Restructuring at Canadian Blood Services has meant 25 layoffs across the country and a reduction in hours for 8 others.
Four of those who will lose their jobs are in Atlantic Canada, two of them in New Brunswick.
Director of Donor Relations Peter Macdonald says they’re finding ways of becoming more efficient, “We’re not where we want to be, and there are no increases coming in our budget, so when we are able to drive more donors to book their appointments self-serve, it allows us to find some efficiencies within the system.”
The layoffs are within donor relations and are effective as of tomorrow.
