Common Council Calls Special Meeting On New Irving Headquarters

Common Council will be holding a special meeting on Monday to explore options to move the Irving Oil headquarters project forward.

Mayor Mel Norton says City staff will present council with a number of options.

Construction was supposed to start yesterday but an appeal has put it on hold “indefinitely”

The city’s former heritage planner Jim Bezanson filed the appeal because he argues the building, as proposed, doesn’t adhere to the city’s bylaw.
