Bus Driver Pleads Guilty To Violating Court Order

A 43 year old city bus driver who was taken off his bus on the west side back in October by City Police has told the court he has a drinking problem.

Walter Scott Lennon made the admission after pleading guilty to violating a court order January 5th not to drink. He was arrested after Police were called to Ridge Street on the east side for a domestic dispute. Lennon was sentenced to 20 days in jail for violating the court order. He earlier pleaded guilty to two impaired driving charges.

Lennon told the court he has tried unsuccessfully to get treatment for alcoholism at Ridgewood. His lawyer told the judge it’s a lot more difficult to get into detox than you might think.

Lennon has another court appearance February 10th on 8 weapons charges that were laid back in October.
