Mexicali Rosa’s Is Sold

The Mexicali Rosa’s Saint John franchise has been sold after 25 years of being in the hands of the Grannan Group.

The buyer is one of its earliest employees, Matthew Youden who was hired by Paul Grannan back in the summer of 1999.

He graduated from UNBSJ with a business degree and moved to Ottawa and its Mexicali Rosa’s franchise. He bought the Fredericton Mexi’s in 2008 and then in 2012, purchased the franchise patents and trademarks and started to operate the franchise company itself.

It’s estimated between 150 and 200 Atlantic Canadians work at the various Mexicali Rosa’s during the peak summer season.
