New Yarmouth-Maine Ferry Deal Still Not Sealed

Negotiations on a new contract are still being ironed out between the Nova Scotia government and Nova Star ferry service.
The link between Portland, Maine and Yarmouth, N.S. was restored last May.
Last summer, the ferry brought in roughly $13 million for tourist operators in southwestern Nova Scotia. However, the government subsidies totalled $26 million in seven months.
Premier Stephen McNeil says they are going to keep a close eye on the ferry operator.
He says they plan on rolling out an aggressive marketing campaign to attract new riders.
