Uptown Saint John Inc. is the local Business Improvement Association representing over 500 businesses within a 26-block area of the central business district.
Our primary goal is to help businesses thrive. We do this by offering marketing tools, leading promotional initiatives, and organizing events that bring people Uptown to support our small, locally owned businesses. We also have a comprehensive beautification program along with high priority of clean streets.
We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business and property owners. BIAs began in Toronto in the early 1970s, and our funding comes through an area rate applied to property owners within our designated boundary.
