A City Wide Parking Ban Is In Place Tonight

A city-wide parking ban is in place tonight.

The city says it’s to prepare for the next storm and to make sure first responders can respond to emergencies.

Over 600 truckloads of snow were removed from the South Central Peninsula but there are still streets that are barely passable.

Parking bans are necessary to ensure snow removal equipment and emergency services are able to maintain access all over the city.

Removing vehicles from the streets makes snow clearing much easier allowing ambulances, fire trucks and police vehicles to navigate streets during a storm.

The City suggests if you have extra parking spaces, please offer them to your neighbours.

The Peel Plaza Parking Garage is offering free parking on a first come first served basis but all vehicles must be removed by 7 tomorrow morning.
