The uptown is gaining a reputation as the restaurant capital of New Brunswick and now there’s a new one to add to the mix.
The Kebab House on Prince William Street is the only Persian restaurant not only in Saint John but also in New Brunswick.
Owner Afshin Ghanbari is from Iran and is bringing that long tradition of food preparation to Saint John which includes long preparation times of an hour or two, fresh meats which make the food juicy and using the spice saffron.
Saffron, as well as being famously expensive, is also packed with antioxidants. It is said to help combat depression and lower blood pressure as well as softening your skin and hair.
Ghanbari says he did well this year at the outdoor markets and based on the feedback he got, decided to open up his own restaurant.
