Uptown Saint John has come up with a new approach for boosting the number of people who come uptown to shop, dine or a get a massage.
A variety of businesses will be accepting uptown dollars, which will be available in $10, $20 and $50 denominations.

Marketing and Projects Manager Tracy Hanson tells us the dollars become available on Friday and will be on sale at a discount from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Our Uptown Dollars are like gift certificates but can be used as cash. Various other business improvement associations have also use this program and they find it very successful,” says Hanson.
Uptown Dollars will be available all year long.
