A Woodstock Fire Leaves 22 People Homeless

A major fire in Woodstock displacing 22 people including several children.

The blaze causing extensive damage to a two-storey building and two other nearby structures also suffered fire, smoke or water damage in downtown Woodstock.

Disaster volunteers with the Red Cross are helping 13 adults and 6 kids with somewhere to stay, food and some clothes. Some are being helped by other agencies and some made their own arrangements.

The fire was reported just after 9am this morning in the Rose building at 645 Main Street which had three apartments upstairs and two ground-floor stores.

Woodstock Fire got help from departments in Hartland and Houlton, Maine.
