Alleged armed robbery at Saint John bingo hall

Saint John police are investigating an armed robbery at a bingo hall in the city.

Officers were called to McAllister Drive on the city’s east side around 10 p.m. Sunday.

In a news release Tuesday, police said a man allegedly entered the bingo hall armed with a weapon.

The man reportedly assaulted a 40-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman before fleeing with cash.

“Once outside, the suspect then allegedly assaulted another 37-year-old woman and stole a Hummer H3, which was later recovered by police on Charlotte Street West,” said the release.

No serious injuries were reported and no charges have been laid at this time.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dashcam or video surveillance of the incident.
