American Director Kevin Smith Could Shoot A Film In Saint John

There is a chance that Kevin Smith may film a movie in Saint John next year.

The film director from New Jersey famous for films like “Clerks” and “Mallrats” was in the Port City for Fundy Fan Fest in August.

Derek Riedle got the chance to show the city to Smith and tells CHSJ News that he really liked it.

He says they wound up driving around town and he kept commenting about how remarkably similar Saint John was to where he grew up in New Jersey.

Riedle says preliminary talks are going on with the city and the province to see what can be done to support this idea.

Should the next Jay and Silent Bob film be shot in Saint John it would be next year.

A Facebook page has been created to support the idea and Riedle would love for people to like and share that.
