Saint John police got the heads up about an inmate who escaped from the Correctional Centre on the Old Black River Road just before 11am this morning.
Police were told he escaped and was travelling on foot.
About 10 minutes later, he was recaptured by police and taken to the police station where he is being held for court on a charge of escaping lawful custody.
