A group against animal cruelty is up in arms after a video began circulating featuring the treatment of a dog on the set of the movie “A Dog’s Purpose”.
Animal Justice has filed an animal cruelty complaint to the Winnipeg Humane Society, the Chief Veterinary Office of Manitoba and Winnipeg Police, because this is where the scene was allegedly shot.
Lawyer and executive director of Animal Justice, Camille Labchuk says, “Filmmakers should face animal cruelty charges for their disturbing abuse of this German Shephard.”
The video that was first revealed on the TMZ website, is now making its rounds on social media. It shows a distressed dog fighting to stay out of the water….and appears as though the dog is eventually forced in.

Many who have posted it, now say they refuse to go and see the film.
In a news release, the group also claims that the use of animals in films is almost completely unregulated in Canada.
A second post went up on the TMZ website last night, stating that Producers say the dog is fine, and was not forced to perform any stunts in the scene that he wasn’t comfortable with.
