In her latest report, Auditor General Kim MacPherson included an update on the status of the value for money recommendations made in her reports dating back to 2011.
The auditor general reports, on average, 70 per cent of the recommendations appear to have been implemented by the applicable departments, commissions and agencies.
Regarding her audit of Constituency Office Costs for M-L-A’s, MacPherson points out two of five recommendations have not been implemented, noting the total constituency office expenses of M-L-A’s are still not made public. She adds implementation of these recommendations is critical to ensuring M-L-A’s can be held accountable for the cost of their constituency offices.
