Arrest in Saint John drug trafficking investigation

One person has been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Saint John.

The Saint John Police Force said the person was arrested without incident on Tuesday.

Officers seized fentanyl, crack cocaine, more than $8,200 in cash, digital scales, a collapsible baton, a fixed blade knife and a cell phone.

The accused is charged with possessing fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possessing cocaine, possessing proceeds of crime, possessing a weapon dangerous to the public and probation violation.

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday for a bail hearing.
