Now that you have sprung forward in time the next thing you should do has to do with your smoke detector.
Fire Prevention Officer Steve Richardson says you should change the battery at least twice a year.
“For the cost of changing a battery, it’s a very economical way to keep your family safe,” says Richardson.
He says it’s advised you have a smoke detector in your bedrooms and on every floor of your home.
“Having a working smoke alarm on every floor is such a cheap way to protect yourself, but you have to make sure the batteries are working,” says Richardson.
You should also change the backup battery in your carbon monoxide detector as well.
