Atlantic Charters President, Veteran Paramedic Killed In Plane Crash

The head of Atlantic Charters Klaus Sonnenberg is the pilot who perished in the air ambulance crash near the Grand Manan airport.

The paramedic who lost his life in the crash has been identified as William Mallock, who had close to twenty years of service.

A second pilot and a registered nurse who survived the crash are in stable condition at the Saint John Regional Hospital. The Atlantic Charters flight was on its way back to the island after a patient transfer when it went down. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is deploying two investigators to the scene from their Dartmouth offices today.

Premier David Alward sending his condolences to the families and friends of Sonnenberg and Mallock saying the tragic events serve as a difficult reminder of the length’s New Brunswick’s first responders and healthcare professionals go to to respond to the needs of New Brunswickers.
