Bad news for the Atlantic Provinces when it comes to innovation.
A new report by the Conference Board of Canada gives all four provinces “D” and “D minus” grades when measuring eleven indicators across three categories.
New Brunswick did the worst, with a “D minus” score, putting them in last place out of all 10 provinces, and 15 other peer countries.
New Brunswick also had the dubious distinction of being the only jurisdiction that didn’t get a single grade higher than a “C”.
PEI was second last, Newfoundland and Labrador came in 22nd.
Nova Scotia was the best ranked Atlantic Canadian province at 20th, with a score of “D”.
