Average Power Outage Time In Saint John Three Times Less Than National Average

The average power outage in Saint John last year was just over two and a half hours.

Saint John Energy President & CEO Ray Robinson says the average power outage in Canada lasts nearly three times that amount.

The average outage time across Canada was over six hours.

Robinson says Saint John Energy Rates are 10-percent lower than other parts of the province, which has saved the city $2 million dollars a year and saved the citizens of Saint John more than 7 million dollars annually.

Robinson presented their annual report to Common Council.

Their net income for the year was $1.6 million, compared to their budgeted target of $200,000.
