Barge Terminal In Lorneville Seen As Spurring Saint John Economy

It would be like another Moosehead Brewery springing up in Lorneville.

That’s the description of the proposed 7 million dollar barge terminal project at Spruce Lake which could just be the boost the Saint John economy needs to get moving again with the creation of 175 highly paid jobs right off the bat and then grow from there.

The General Manager of Saint John Industrial Parks, Brian Irving says they would like construction to begin by the end of this year because fabricators in the city have been losing out on countless opportunities globally.

The risk assessment has been done and Common Council will be getting a report later this month.
