Barn Raising Planned After Structure Collapses, Killing Cows

The loss of numerous dairy cows on a farm in Waterford, outside of Sussex has inspired residents to hold a barn raising.

The Owners of a dairy farm have been devastated after the main barn collapsed on Wednesday, taking a third of the herd with it.

Jodi McGibbon is organising the barn raising event. She says the loss of the barn has been pegged at $250, 000, and they’re hoping to raise some funds, but they need helping hands more than money.

She says this can be done without a lot of money, with the help of people, who can donate building materials and who know about construction.

It just takes a lot of helping hands who are willing to donate their time, skills and materials to the cause.

The barn raising is planned for April 4 to the 6th.
