BC Suffering From Monumental Flooding

British Columbia is suffering from devastating flooding in parts of the coastal province.

Heavy rains and winds have been hitting the southern part of the province for days causing evacuations of cities and towns.

Many communities are being left severed off from supplies after roads and bridges have literally been washed away.

David Phillips from Environment Canada tells Acadia News that Vancouver received as much as 150 millimetres over the last three days, Hope set a new daily record with 174 millimetres.

The municipality picked up 277 millimetres over Sunday and Monday, which is the equivalent of how much rain Halifax typically gets from June to August.

Mudslides have taken out entire homes and neighbourhoods along with impacting escape efforts.
