Be Safe On The Water

Maritimers are being urged to be safe around the water, especially over the next few days.

This is National Drowning Prevention Week.

Drowning is the third leading cause of unintentional death worldwide.

The Lifesaving Society of Nova Scotia says learning how to swim can increase safety and prevent tragedy in the water.

Three hundred and eight Canadians died by drowning last year.
