Body Of Missing Man Found In Tent, Say Police

Saint John police say a 35-year-old man reported missing last week has been found dead.

Police were called to a wooded area behind Lou Murphy Park off Milford Road on Monday morning.

“It was reported that the caller had been walking in the area and located what they believed to be a deceased person in a tent,” police said in a news release.

Officers who arrived on the scene confirmed that the body was that of Cody Bartlett.

Bartlett was last seen in the Lancaster Mall area on Nov. 3. He was reported missing by police on Friday.

In their missing person report last week, police said Bartlett was known to frequent the Milford area.

Major Crime, Forensic Services and the Coroner’s office were called to investigate. Police said an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
