The people of Saint Andrews using the town water distribution system are under a boil water order.
Because of an alarm malfunction, water levels in the reservoirs dropped significantly and the pressure within the water distribution system had a corresponding drop.
People will experience low pressure or no water service but, the water levels are being restored and the pressure should return on Thursday afternoon.
The boil water order is required by the Department of Health and is a routine precaution because of the drop in water levels.
Once the tanks have been filled, testing will take place over two separate days before the boil order can be lifted.
