Book of condolences for Donald Sutherland

Saint John-area residents will be able to pay their respects to a well-loved actor.

Donald Sutherland passed away last week at the age of 88 after a lengthy illness.

The Saint John-born actor starred in nearly 200 films and television productions.

Saint John Mayor Donna Reardon says a book of condolences will be set up at City Hall.

The book is expected to be ready by midday Monday and will be available until Thursday, July 4.

Reardon said everyone is invited to come and share their messages.

Sutherland rose to fame after starring in films such as The Dirty Dozen, M*A*S*H, and Kelly’s Heroes.

More recently, he played President Snow in The Hunger Games movie franchise.
