Break-In At Uptown Bank

One man is in custody after an early morning break-in at a bank in uptown Saint John, according to police.

Saint John police responded to an alarm at the RBC Royal Bank branch on King Street just before 4 a.m Friday.

Officers who arrived at the bank found a broken door, according to a news release from the police force.

“A 39-year-old man was subsequently located inside the bank and arrested for break and enter,” said the release.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Friday to face charges in connection with the break-in.

A boarded-up window was visible in one of the doors at the bank around mid-morning Friday. A police vehicle was also seen parked outside of the bank around 4:20 a.m.
