The proposed Energy East pipeline is dead.
TransCanada Corporation has announced it will no longer be proceeding with its proposed Energy East Pipeline and Eastern Mainline projects.
TransCanada President and Chief Executive Officer Russ Girling released a statement saying after careful review of changed circumstances, we will be informing the National Energy Board that we will no longer be proceeding with our Energy East and Eastern Mainline applications.
Trans Canada had suspended its application for 30 days after more stringent environmental considerations were to be part of the evaluation.
