Don’t be alarmed if you notice a large emergency response presence in the Elmsville area on Saturday.
Brunswick Pipeline is holding a mock emergency exercise along Route 760 in that area and members of three local fire departments — Rollingdam, Elmsville, and Oak Bay — St. Stephen RCMP, Charlotte County dispatch, New Brunswick EMO, and the department of Energy and Resource Development are all taking part.
Nina MacKinnon of Emera says they hold a mock emergency each year.
“The mock emergency helps us test our emergency response and communications practices,” she says.
“It gives us the opportunity to work together with emergency responders to test our equipment and our procedures in a simulated emergency scenario”
Traffic delays or any disruptions to homes or businesses aren’t expected.
There won’t be nay natural gas released during this exercise, which is happening from 9am to noon.
