Burn Ban For Much Of N.B.

Much of New Brunswick is under its first burn ban of the year until at least Friday afternoon.

The ban, issued Thursday afternoon, applied to northern, western and parts of central New Brunswick.

It includes Charlotte, York, Sunbury and Northumberland counties.

Southeastern regions currently remain open for burning, including Saint John, Sussex and Greater Moncton.

Burning conditions are updated daily at 2 p.m.

As of Thursday afternoon, a total of 90 fires have been reported to date in New Brunswick, which is below the 10-year average of 140 fires for this time of year.
