Campbellton couple wins big in ALC Gold Ball draw

A quiet camping trip in Miramichi, became even more memorable with the purchase of a Lotto 6/49 ticket.

A Campbellton, New Brunswick couple are the latest to win one million dollars in the Gold Ball draw.

Heather and Alex McLean heard that someone had won the prize from the September 17 draw, but delayed checking their tickets due to comments on social media that pointed to someone else.

But after checking the ticket, they received the big news, “I scanned the ticket and all these balloons and everything kept coming out of the phone and it said, ‘Major win’ and to contact this number,” Heather said.

The Atlantic Lottery’s Customer Care Centre confirmed the win.

“Most people probably take a lifetime to earn this much money in wages, it just doesn’t sink in easily,” Alex said.

They plan to use their winnings for upgrades to their trailer, to buy new furniture for their home and will also share with family.

The couple also says when they decide to take their next trip, it’ll be a first class flight.
