Campbellton Death Becomes Homicide Case

New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating the death of a man in Campbellton as a homicide.

The investigation began on November 16 when an aggravated assault occurred at a medical facility in Campbellton.

The victim, a 49-year-old man from Eel River Crossing, suffered what police believed to be serious, life-threatening injuries.

On December 23, the victim died in hospital and he was later identified as Ronald ‘Ron’ Savoy.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on November 29 in connection with the aggravated assault.

He will appear in Campbellton Provincial Court at a later date.
