Lots of people will be converging on Market Square on Canada Day. The People Parade gets started at 11:15 in the morning leaving Kings Square, down to the foot of King Street for a flag raising.
Stephany Peterson of the Hardman Group says there’s lots to do and see and it all wraps up with fireworks.
She tells there will be a never to be seen before feature with a waterfall of fireworks off the Harbour Bridge.
The fireworks are set to start at dusk tonight and the only thing to prevent fireworks is fog and in that case the event would be moved to the next day where the weather permits the show to proceed.
During the flag raising ceremony in front of City Hall, Mayor Don Darling will present M-P Wayne Long with a Canadian flag who will raise it to the tune of the national anthem. The Parade is led by the Piper decked out in traditional piping tartan garb into the Market Square Atrium.
