Candidates Gearing Up For Federal Election

Several local candidates have already put their names forward for the upcoming federal election.

Saint John-Rothesay had three confirmed candidates as of Monday morning.

Incumbent Liberal MP Wayne Long will face Conservative Mel Norton and Nicholas Pereira of the People’s Party of Canada.

In Fundy Royal, incumbent Conservative MP Rob Moore will be back on the ballot alongside Whitney Dykeman for the Liberals and NDP candidate Josh Floyd.

New Brunswick Southwest has four confirmed candidates: incumbent John Williamson for the Conservatives, Liberal Jason Hickey, Meryl Sarty of the People’s Party, and NDP candidate Richard Warren.

Voters will head to the polls on Sept. 20.
