Car Crashes Into Saint John Bank

Saint John police say two men have been arrested after a car drove into the front of a bank in the north end.

Acting Sgt. Sylvia Summerville with the Saint John Police Force says it happened at the RBC on Lansdowne Avenue shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Summerville said officers were given a vague description of the vehicle and pulled it over on Visart Street shortly after.

The driver is facing several charges, including refusal, leaving the scene of a crash, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest.

Summerville said one or two people inside the bank at the time received minor injuries.

The bank was closed on Wednesday morning but was expected to reopen by afternoon.
