Provincial NDP Leader Dominic Cardy laid out his party’s ideas about economic development at a business luncheon hosted by the Saint John regional Chambers of Commerce today.
Cardy explains he’d work to reward companies that actually create employment opportunities on the ground, rather than those with the “correct” political affiliation.
Cardy says the tax credit would be available to both large or small businesses regardless of their political stripes–a system he says has been shown to work in the US and other jurisdictions. He also outlined plans to close the Department of Economic Development while keeping the elements that actually work, and increasining the NB Investment Tax Credit cap to $500,000.
