CBMF In PEI Is A No Drone Zone

A reminder to anyone heading to the Cavendish Beach Music Festival this weekend, if you were thinking of using a drone.

New Transport Canada regulations that came into effect on June 1st, prohibit anyone from flying a drone at advertised events including parades and concerts.

RCMP say, that means, flying a drone above or around the festival site is against the rules unless you have a special operations flight certificate.

It is also illegal to fly a drone in a National Park.

If you are caught flying a drone, you will be asked by RCMP to present your certificate.

Fines in connection with the use of drones, range anywhere from $250 to $15,000.
