Changes to some Rockwood Park trails

Changes are coming to several trails at Rockwood Park in Saint John.

A number of trails throughout the park currently extend onto private property.

City officials say they are being rerouted to ensure all trails remain within city-owned land.

“In the coming months, new trail maps will be issued, and work will commence to adjust portions of the trails,” said a news release.

“We kindly ask all Rockwood Park trail users to respect private property and adhere to the appropriate signage.”

These changes will specifically affect the Carnage Trail, a challenging black diamond trail along the park’s northern edge, and Deer Trax, a short connector trail between Moose Trax and Carnage.

Officials noted the rerouting will remove sections of these trails that are not within the park.
