Changes To Water Street In Saint Andrews

Things are looking a bit different in downtown Saint Andrews as they deal with the new reality of COVID-19.

Water Street is now one-way only between Edward Street and Frederick Street.

On-street parking has also been removed along this three-block stretch of Water Street.

Deputy Mayor Brad Henderson told our newsroom earlier in June that the change will give pedestrians more room to physical distance.

Henderson said it will also give businesses space to safely display wares or have restaurants set up tables outside.

The pilot project is expected to continue until Sept. 8.
