Charges have been laid following a break-in and theft at a church in St. Stephen this spring.
Mounties said they were called to a break-and-enter at a church on Union Street on May 6.
At least one person had forced their way inside and took two computers before fleeing.
“Police obtained fingerprint evidence at the scene, and were able to identify a suspect in connection with the investigation,” RCMP said in a news release on Wednesday.
Officers arrested a 34-year-old man on July 11 after a brief foot chase in the area of Schoodic Street.
The accused, who is from Caithness, has been charged with break, enter and theft, theft under $5,000, and obstructing a peace officer.
Mounties said the man was also wanted on four arrest warrants related to previously outstanding charges.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to return to court on July 26.
