Charges Laid For Alleged Assault Of Dennis Oland

Charges have been laid against two prisoners, originally from Halifax, for assaulting Dennis Oland last July while he was serving his sentence for second degree murder at the Renous maximum security penetentiary.

Oland had been convicted in December of 2015 for murdering his father, Richard at his office on Canterbury Street in Saint John in July of 2011. The New Brunswick Court of Appeal has ordered a new trial be held.

The circumstances which led to the assault charges being laid have not been revealed in court yet.
