UPDATE: 2 gold medals for Canada at Paris Olympics

A double-golden day for Canada at the Summer Olympics.

Summer McIntosh picked up her second medal of the games, crushing the field to win the women’s 400m Individual Medley swimming event.

The 17-year-old took silver in her opening event in the pool Saturday.

It’s a first time a Canadian woman has won gold in the event.

Earlier in the day, Japanese-born Canadian Christa Deguchi won Canada’s first gold of the games in judo.

The country also picked up a bronze in men’s synchronized 10m platform diving.

Canada now has five medals.
