City Launches #MySaintJohn Campaign

Which neighbourhoods, parks and landmarks make you proud to call Saint John home?

The city has launched a new photo contest on social media called #MySaintJohn to help create some positive online dialogue.

Spokesperson Lisa Caissie told our newsroom the idea stemmed from the city’s population growth framework.

“We’re looking at this as an opportunity to shine the light on Saint John and for citizens, who are our biggest ambassadors, to share with each other, to share with the communities and share with potential newcomers what Saint John has to offer,” Caissie said.

Caissie said the first phase, which runs until the end of November, focuses on favourite places, adding they are also working on coming up with other ideas.

“Some of this will grow organically, we understand that, but the next focus may be on people and then perks, which is what we’re saying are Saint John’s brag tags,” she said.

Caissie said they will do weekly random draws for “brag bags”, which include prizes from several local sponsors.
