City Looking For Your Help To Determine Locations For Granite Sculptures

Saint John needs your help to decide where two granite sculptures should be installed in the city.

The public art will be created later this summer as part of the Sculpture Saint John international symposium.

City officials examined 11 possible locations and narrowed it down to five — Visart/Wellesley Park and Victoria Park in the north end, Market Place and Queen Square West on the west side, and Rainbow Park in the south end.

They want to install the new pieces within distinct neighbourhoods of the city that don’t already have one.

Saint John already has seven granite sculptures that were created at previous Sculpture Saint John symposia, including two at Harbour Passage, one at UNBSJ, one at Rockwood Park, one at the Public Gardens, one at NBCC on Grandview Avenue, and one at the Saint John Airport.
