Clean-Up Planned Saturday For Old North End

A community clean-up will focus on the North End this weekend.

Tamara Kelly, Executive Director of the O.N.E. Change Inc., said it will focus on the area of Newman, Main, Adelaide and Bridge streets.

“We have a lot of residents that live throughout the Old North End. So they will take the supplies to their area and clean up. We’ll have a truck going around that will pick up the bags and bring them back to the [Nick Nicolle Community] Centre,” Kelly said.

Kelly said everything required including garbage bags will be provided to volunteers.

“We even have some of those pinchers provided by the City to pick up [items]. We also have some rakes and all of that available. Gloves and masks are required especially while registering. Those will be provided if needed,” Kelly said.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

All registered participants get a ticket for a take out barbeque lunch.
