Closure of Route 1 westbound on-ramp in Saint John

A closure will impact drivers leaving uptown Saint John over the next couple of days.

The Main Street Viaduct ramp to Route 1 westbound will be closed starting at 7 a.m. Friday.

City officials said the closure is needed to complete work within the ramp for the Main Street active transportation project.

The closure is expected to remain in place until 7 p.m. Saturday, the city said in a news release.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes, such as Garden Street/Paradise Row and Crown Street/the One Mile Interchange.
