The wheels are now in motion when it comes to silencing train whistles on the East side.
The City officially issuing a notice that a motion to stop the whistles at the Rothesay Avenue and Thorne Avenue train crossings is being considered by Common Council. The motion will be coming before council for a vote at its next meeting which will be at the end of this month.
The effort has been driven by councillor Gerry Lowe after receiving complaints from residents in the area due to increased train traffic.
