There are calls to have another look at the grants that have been handed out by the city’s Community Grants Committee amid concern about less money going to groups in the priority neighbourhoods.
Councillor at Large Shirley McAlary is a member of the committee that had to pick and choose who got what and some got nothing.
McAlary defends the work of the committee, saying the requests for grants exceeded 1.2 million dollars but there was only $226 thousand in the pot.
