Update: Confederation Bridge travel advisory Sunday

If you’re driving to Prince Edward Island, be prepared for possible restricted crossings on Easter weekend.

The Confederation Bridge linking PEI and New Brunswick has issued an advisory.

It states that the site-specific weather forecast from Rowan Williams Davies and Irwin Weather Services indicates wind conditions may result in restrictions of bridge traffic from 10:00 a.m. Sunday until about 4:00 a.m. Monday.

According to the bridge’s website, restrictions may be enforced when steady winds recorded at the span exceed 70 km/h with gusts consistently exceeding 85 km/h.

“Restrictions during these times usually only apply to high-sided vehicles, motorcycles, and vehicles with objects in tow.”
